Advent is Approaching

Beginning November 30th!

Advent is the beginning of the Church year.  Why does the Church year begin then?  Each new year, whatever calendar it marks, represents new hopes and dreams for the year ahead.  Advent is no exception, with the hope and dreams of life from God through Jesus Christ being presented in the seasons of the church year.  It all begins with an announcement – regardless of where we are, or where we think we are, God is looking for us, to bring us home.  It is in the voice of John the Baptist, in the proclamation of Gabriel, in the words of Jesus.

Look for the special Advent devotions in the newsletter and in church, and also our Sunday services will have special “touches” to them

Ushers

We need your help to usher at Sunday services.  If you would like to be matched with another couple, or have any questions, please talk to Fr. David.  We need you!

Licenses for Eucharistic Ministers will be renewed in the Advent season by Bishop Jacobus.  If you would like to be licensed for the coming year as a Eucharistic Minister, please let the church office know as soon as possible.

We Need Your Help ! ! !

When using the ovens in the kitchen, please remember to turn them off.

They were found still on at a low temperature after a recent first Sunday potluck.  And, remember that the ovens are self-cleaning and that nothing (including aluminum foil) should be left in them at the end of an event.  Please take the time to check before you leave the kitchen that everything is turned off and put away.  Thanks for your help!

Craft Fair Tomorrow – Nov. 14: St. Clare’s Hospital

Recycling Calendars!

Here's a way to recycle those extra 2009 wall calendars that might come your way. The Golden K Kiwanis Club of Wausau is collecting them for distribution to local nursing homes.

Drop them off at the service counter at your nearest Pick 'n Save store by early December. Club members will see that the calendars are distributed to people who can use them.

Enews

We have been having difficulties with different email accounts lately.  If you haven’t been receiving enews and should let us know.  Also, if there are any new email addresses or address changes please call or email the church office.  With the different computers and operating systems some of the information may appear slightly different on different systems.  There will be a hard paper copy of the enews on the bulletin board in the Memorial Hall each week.
